HOME altered letters

I finally finished the wooden letters which have been sitting naked in my kitchen for many months! The SU! papers were perfect for this project! I used Washington Apple, Parisian Breeze, and Rockabilly DSPs (all very sadly retiring). I inked a flower from the Pretties Kit using a sponge dauber & craft ink, added a clear button backed with DSP to the center, and tied on various ribbons. I also have a little blinged out cherry accent planned & started for the "M," but I'm waiting for my SU! shipment with the Fire Circle Rhinestone brads to complete that part. This project was so much fun to make...I love altering stuff! I hope you like it too. Thanks for looking!

Card #3 and a Peek at Decor Elements

Hi! I know I missed yesterday, but I'm back and I have a cute card to share. This one uses the Forest Friends set from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I just love the darling deer and bunny in this set! The accent piece with the deer was a CASE, but it was posted in a collage photo from a whole swap group and it didn't have the designer's name on it. I tried my hand at using the brayer. It's a tricky little bugger, but the results are so pretty and I know that with a little practice it will be much easier to do.
I used To the Nines Specialty Designer Series Paper (You have got to feel the amazing thickness and texture of this paper!)
for the background and some Versamark watermark stamping. I'm very happy with the results.

Next I wanted to share how wonderful theses Decor Elements pieces look on my good friend's bedroom wall! She placed the order at Darla's workshop and has been very under the weather lately, so I went to her house and put it up for her. She graciously allowed me to take a photo. The vinyl has a matte finish and looks beautiful. It was actually very easy to put up by simply following the included instructions. Thanks, Madolyn, for letting me share! Don't you think it looks great?

Bridal Shower Card

I used an idea that is flying around the web right now, cutting the large scallop circle into a dress shape. I honestly don't know where it originated, but I've seen it a lot on Split Coast Stampers. I embossed it with the floral Texturz Plate using another trick I picked up over at SCS. I spritzed the cardstock with rubbing alcohol to get a deeper impression. I've always done this with water, but the alcohol dries so very quickly. The embossed flowers & dots were highlighted with 2-Way glue & Dazzling Diamonds. The DSP here is Walk in the Park from the Occassions Mini (BTW, this is includede in the Buy 3, Get 1 Free sale!).

Finally a Baseball-Free Weekend!

Wow! Have I been overwhelmed lately with the month of May! All of what used to be free moments have been literally consumed by end-of-the year teacher and Mama duties and baseball practices & games! I finally have a weekend where all of my time is not spoken for. Whew!

I have been creating in those late night hours after kids are in dreamland......using Stampin' Up!'s amazing designer series papers. I just haven't been able to photograph, edit and post anything. SO my pledge to you is to post a new creation every day this week highlighting this fabulous paper. Be sure to bookmark & check back daily or better yet, subscribe to my blog so you'll be reminded when a new creation has been posted.

Here is today's treasure:

I used the Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper. These colors are so rich and yummy! I also used the Big Shot and my favorite die, Top Note (a SU! exclusive) and the Scallop Circle die to create the cute little purse. It really is absolutely darling irl if I do say so myself! I will be making a whole bunch more of these for gifts! I used the Sincere Salutations stamp set (so beautiful & incredibly versatile!)and a variety of Stampin' Up!'s fun punches to create four tiny, cute, and useful note cards which fit perfectly inside the box part of the purse with mini 3 1/8" x 3 1/8" envelopes.

Workshop Success! WooHoo!

Well, I demonstrated at my first ever workshop yesterday. It was what I would call a success! Darla was an extremely gifted hostess. The spread was yummy! I was well-prepared and flew through my demonstrations. We had a few laughable moments. All in all it was a good time and generated some sales and great hostess benefits for Darla! Here is a photo of the cards I did. I tried to cover a variety of products & "ooh ahh" techniques that are easy to do (heat embossing, poppin' pastels, punch art). The make-n-take card involved 2-step stampin' (The Heartfelt Thanks card below).
The apple core punch art card is a CASE from someone at SCS (I don't have my thumb drive here to give proper credit. Sorry!).

I also made a very girly scrapbook page for Darla to keep since she has a daughter. This was extremely fun for me since I am surrounded by boy stuff! It utilized the Big Shot for cutting & embossed textures.

Apologies once again here for the crooked image above. My Photoshop skills are not quite what they should be yet.
So there you have it folks...a weekend filled with abundant creativity and successful sales. WooHoo! One guest even said, "Well look at that, I can be crafty after all!" I call that a job well done on my part!

Scrapbook WOW! Class

My first class that I am offering is a Scrapbook WOW! class. This is a class where you will make a scrapbook page using Stampin' Up! embellishments and fun techniques to make a scrapbook page that has a "wow factor!"

This month I am borrowing a design from my upline, April. It was so much fun to do (I even did a technique I had never done before!), that I decided to share the fun with you. I am also really looking forward to designing my own in months to come as I plan to offer this type of class on a monthly basis.

You will be using Decor stencils, filigree & rhinestone brads, & wide grosgrain ribbon to make this beautiful 12x12 2-page spread with a too-cute ribbon flower in a yummy pink & gray color palette.

My Tiles

I made this first tile to set up with my Stampin' Up! display at work. I designed it with colors to match my scraproom.

I had someone ask if I could make her one to purchase for her daughter. I said, "Sure!" and my tile making frenzy began! She asked for pastels, but no pink, cupcakes, & her name. Here is what I came up with:
Then I made a bunch of Easter-themed tiles with a cross & John 3:16 on them (sorry, didn't take a picture of these) Oops! They sold pretty quickly. I offered to do custom work and had this next bunch requested:
For these, I stamped all the designs, but used ink-jet printable rub-ons for the scriptures. I was really happy with how they came out. I am also getting ready to work on two more custom designs.

These really are beautiful irl with their natural background,and glaze only on the stamped images. This is such a fun and rewarding project.

Making Plans...

Wow! Life has really gotten away with me this week. It's been a busy one with work, kids, & baseball. I haven't had time to photograph, let alone post my latest creative efforts. Let me say though that I am planning some classes for May, and my first ever workshop... um, party...I'm not quite sure what the correct terms are yet for the different events. It will be on the 18th and I have some great stuff planned to demo along with a super cute make-n-take project. I'm really excited about it and I think my enthusiasm has rubbed off some on my hostess...thanks, Darla! Here's hoping for a successful first go at it!

This card is one of my favorites I made this weekend. It's just "cute." I used craft ink and embossing. I cheated a little with the border though because my scallop border punch was in transit from SU! I used my *gasp* Fiskars one. The same effect can be made using the 1/16th hole punch on the SU! Scallop Border punch, so not a big cheat.

Creative Time!

I spent some time today getting creative with my demo starter kit supplies. I created a bunch of cards & a few projects using only the stuff I got in my kit plus a few extra stamp sets I had and a little bit of ribbon, brads, glitter, & punching. I tried to use a variety of techniques so my projects would be easy to demonstrate or do as make-n-takes. I had so much fun!!! Here's a preview:
